      Yeah, the smell was definitely a defining feature, especially considering the generally humid and damp nature of Venice. The store owner mentioned that the place would flood regularly, so some of the books on the floor near the door access to the adjacent canal had kind of melted and fused together.

    It must be quite tricky pulling out a selected title from the upper shelves without bringing the whole lot down on your head. Lovely photo, brimming with intrigue.

      Talking with the proprietor, I attempted to suggest he look into the Dewey Decimal Classification System, but he would have none of it…

    I agree…if you need to be organised you should be in Angus and Robertson…this is a REAL bookstore🙂. You could lose yourself for hours here…my kind of heaven🙂
