I have no idea what it is, or was, but I like it…

this is part of the old gas-works in the neighborhood of Ghazi in central Athens. The area is now a park and they put on cultural events there. It was pretty well overhauled a few years ago (in 2004 or so) and there’s a metro stop there now (Kerameikos station). 🙂

      Heidi,

Thanks for the info. I had seen another one of these structures nearby that had been used as a shell for a building, built inside. Its an interesting area to walk around.

We have one of those in Launceston (Tasmania…Australia) and apparently they are going to turn it into some sort of office building…I think it looks better just the way that it is

Yeah, I liked it a lot. Although, If it were up to me I’d grow vines up it. Maybe Wisteria, which can become quite large and live for a long time.

Say something...
