Loganiaceae, Strychnos spp., Vietnam

October 15, 2011

Here are some photos of a Strychnos species I photographed in S. Vietnam. I’m not terribly familiar with the Genus, so not sure what species this is, doesn’t look like nux-vomica to me… but I could be wrong. If any readers can help me with the ID it would be greatly appreciated. I’ll go back and take photos of the seeds. Here’s a previous post, with photos of another species of Strychnos (photos taken on an island off the Pacific coast of Panama). This species was a vine, it had what tasted like edible fruit, very aromatic, seeds probably poisonous.
