Myrtaceae, Feijoa sellowiana, Pineapple Guava, Guavasteen

Originating in the highlands of southern Brazil, and parts of Colombia, Argentina and Uruguay. The small tree is increasingly common in gardens and front yards in northern California, where it flowers and fruits heavily. I have seen it growing and flowering as an understory shrub beneath redwoods.
