Acanthaceae, Ruellia californica, Rama Parda

A common shrub in and along arroyos. The leaves are somewhat resinous, and exude a powerful aroma when crushed or brushed up against. The smell is somewhat agreeable from a distance, but a bit potent when smelled up close.
