Odd eggs, Panama

2009 January 20

I found these, which I am assuming are the eggs of some kind of insect, in a National Park in Panama. I would be interested in any related info.

Your eggs appear to be of a heteropteran, aka a bug. Some bugs are herbivorous and some are carnivorous. The most interesting features in the last photo are the exit holes from the eggs, , which were probably made by a parasitoid wasp.

These appear to be from, the Funga Munga Beetle! My recommendation would be to grind them into a fine powder and huff them, for a spiritual experience similar to snorting ajax.

Spencer understands a joke Jessice! He’s the one in the photo and is a personal friend.
Don’t get your panties in a bunch!
